The Volunteer & Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for supporting the management and effectiveness of the organization’s programs, which are executed largely through our volunteer-mentors. The Volunteer & Program Coordinator supervises, trains, and mentors volunteers while coordinating logistical and planning support as well as program assessment. The Volunteer & Program Coordinator identifies, implements, and coordinates activities and ensures that programs are continually enhanced and meeting the needs of the organization and the clients served. The ideal candidate will be personable, organized, detail-orientated and share the organization’s mission. Some evening and weekend work required.


Duties & Responsibilities:

     

  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Director and relevant committees to develop annual program goals and objectives.
  • Manages all programs including the School Based Mentoring Program, Challenge Adventure Weekends (CAW), Adventure Outings (AO), and other programs as assigned.
  • Oversees the recruitment, training, retention, recognition, and advancement of program volunteers.
  • Oversees the implementation of all background-check protocols for volunteers.
  • Ensures all volunteer & program data is gathered, tracked and communicated throughout the organization.
  • Builds and maintains exceptional relationships with program sites, schools, volunteers, clients and parents.
  • Works with the Executive Director in promoting the organization’s programs and mission, building relationships with the community, and encouraging partnerships beneficial to the organization.
  • Employs the use of texting apps, social media platforms, and phone trees to ensure our clients/mentors/volunteers are receiving ongoing communication about BTMT events/activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Experience leading, engaging, mobilizing and recruiting a large workforce, preferably volunteers.
  • Experience developing databases and information systems.
  • Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • A car, insurance, and valid driver’s license.
  • Effective time management skills, including demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers are encouraged to apply.
  • Preference for local.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, and excel in high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to work within a team, build relationships and work collaboratively throughout the organization and onsite.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills as an ambassador for Boys to Men Tucson.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
