    Job Description: Civic Engagement Organizer (Full-Time, Temporary)

    We are seeking a passionate and motivated Civic Engagement Organizer to join our team. This full-time position will run until the end of the year with the opportunity for renewal based on performance and organizational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in community organizing, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization, with a focus on empowering underrepresented communities. This role reports to the Director of Civic Engagement and Research.

    Note: This role is hybrid, with expectations to attend events and organize canvasses primarily in Brooklyn (Sunset Park and Bushwick). The position will require some evenings and weekends, especially as Election Day approaches!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Organize and lead community outreach efforts to increase civic participation, particularly among historically marginalized groups.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local organizations, coalitions, and community leaders to support civic engagement initiatives.
    • Coordinate and facilitate voter registration drives, town halls, and public forums.
    • Educate and inform communities about civic rights, the importance of voting, and how to engage with local government.
    • Mobilize volunteers and supporters to participate in canvassing, phone banking, and digital outreach efforts.
    • Track and report on campaign goals and community impact.
    • Collaborate with the wider CUFFH team (Organizing, Communications, and Services) for events, partnerships, etc.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in community organizing, advocacy, or related work.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work with diverse communities and build relationships across different groups.
    • Knowledge of civic engagement strategies and tools.
    • Passionate about social justice, equity, and empowering communities.
    • Experience with working with coalitions or with managing volunteers.
    • Ability for citywide travel and to work some evenings and weekends.
    • Bilingual Spanish and/or Chinese speaker a huge plus!
