ANF is on a mission to reduce the impact of poverty in the lives of the most vulnerable in Nicaragua. We are seeking a Project Development Manager for the Agriculture and Rural Development Department.
The main objective of this position is to formulate project proposals, supervise
the implementation process of new projects and oversee external monitoring and
evaluation of active projects.
Requirements:
BA degree (preferably MA) in Agri-Business, Rural Development, Sociology,
Marketing, Business Administration, International Affairs, Tourism, or similar
majors.
4 to 6 years of practical experience in formulating, implementing, and evaluating
donor-funded rural development projects, private sector farming enterprises or
academic research.
Knowledge and experience in creating external long-term impact evaluations, gathering
base line data, and conducting final project evaluations.
Proven knowledge and hands-on experience dealing with climate change, agro-ecology,
soil conservation, agro-forestry systems, value-chain interventions, and food
security issues.
Native-level English and Spanish (Written and Spoken).
Preferably able to drive a motorcycle in rural areas.
Able to travel extensively inside the country and occasionally outside.
Valid US visa is preferable.
Responsabilities:
Actively manage search for local, regional, or international donors, other sources, private sector entities or academic institutions.
Establish alliances with strategic partners, donor, and other partnerships for the Agriculture Training Center in Tipitapa.
Maintain abreast of latest tendencies in prices, market trends and other market intelligence on the main crops in the Dry Corridor (basic grains, horticulture, coffee, cacao, dragon fruit, and others).
