Job Description:


Friends Forever International (www.friendsforeverusa.org) is offering qualified applicants a hands-on contract position coordinating a two-week, residential, youth-empowerment program for young people from cultures in conflict. U.S. Site Manager will live and work, for two weeks, with a group of ten youth, ages 15-17, and two adult International Group Leaders from either Israel or Northern Ireland.


FFI is currently hiring for our summer program session:

July 5- July 20


Significant experience working directly with groups of high school-aged teens/youth is required, preferably in a residential setting (those with experience as an overnight camp counselor or in other residential youth work setting encouraged to apply.) International experience is a plus; cultural humility a necessity.


Applicants must be highly organized, flexible, and excited to participate in an intense, dynamic and very busy two-week experience. This is a live-in position for the entire two-week program that requires flexibility in personal space and accommodations. All reasonable expenses (admissions into group activities and room and board) are covered by Friends Forever.

 This position reports to the Director of Community Engagement and Programs but will deal directly with other staff, sponsors, board members, and volunteers.

U.S. Site Manager Duties:


Work in conjunction with the International Group Leaders to facilitate group and individual development in teamwork, communication, and leadership

Help to foster a healthy and respectful group-living environment

Coordinate and facilitate the group's participation in activities such as community service, outdoor challenges, meetings with local youth, and public speaking events that have been scheduled around the region

Safely drive the group to multiple activities and events in a 15-passenger van (valid U.S. license required)

Handle group finances (groceries, gas, basic household and workshop supplies) within a given budget

Maintain written and photo documentation of group activities

Maintain positive relations with local volunteers and community member

Provide daily updates to Friends Forever Headquarters regarding the group’s progress during each activity

Additional Qualifications:

Applicants must be available for at least one weekend before the start of the program for training. Training dates will be determined based on availability of all U.S. Site Managers hired for a particular season.

Applicants with CPR and lifesaving certification are desired (First Aid/CPR certification is required at the start of the program, but not required for application.)

Applicants must be able to represent themselves as a neutral party on the issues concerning Northern Ireland/Ireland (Protestant/Catholic) and Israel/Palestine (Arab/Jewish). This includes but is not limited to conversations, social media, and public presentations both during the time of the US Skill Building Phase and otherwise. It is the Executive Director’s discretion as to what constitutes neutrality.

Applicants must also have a clean driving record and must pass a thorough motor vehicle and criminal background screening for this position. Driver's license will need to be presented prior to hiring.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

4-year degree or equivalent experience required.
