To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking a Policy Associate to join our growing team.

Supervisor: Vice President of Public Policy

Salary Range: $48,000-$52,000

The Role: The Policy Associate will play an essential role in supporting Project Bread’s policy and advocacy goals by providing programmatic and administrative support on all aspects of the department’s work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with content development as needed, including drafting fact sheets, action alerts, newsletters, etc.
  • Schedule appointments with internal and external participants and providing logistical support during calls and meetings, including technology set-up and troubleshooting, notetaking, and meeting follow-up
  • Assist with communications with external partners
  • Prepare and handle electronic communications
  • Attend and represent the organization at key coalition and partner meetings
  • Maintain contact databases and electronic files
  • Perform other related tasks as needed

Organizational Responsibilities and/or Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk, attending pre-Walk events as assigned, and supporting Walk for Hunger fundraising efforts
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings and perform other program duties as assigned

·        Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment

·        Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

·        Strong written and oral communication skills

·        Experience working in diverse environments with people of different backgrounds

·        Familiarity with basic HTML programming is a plus

·        Bachelors degree with 3+ years of experience

All employees are currently working remotely and will not return to the office until it is safe to do so. At that time, the Policy Associate will need to be present in the East Boston office on a regular basis.

The Project Bread office is in East Boston. While there are various types of remote, hybrid and office-based positions, all staff are expected to occasionally be in the office.
