Campaign Coordinator - Global Vaccine Access

Public Citizen’s access to medicines group challenges the drug corporations’ monopoly power in order to make medicine affordable for all. We build coalitions, strategize, organize and provide technical assistance to partners around the world. We help develop new policy and legislation. We are helping chart a course through the pandemic toward a just and healthy world.

DESCRIPTION: The Campaign Coordinator will help build a campaign to ensure timely global access to safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines, through U.S. government leadership that increases vaccine manufacturing capacity and shares technology and knowledge with the world. The Campaign Coordinator will support outreach to opinion leaders, plan convenings and help mobilize coalitions. The Campaign Coordinator will work closely with the Access to Medicines Director to manage the group’s partnership and support needs.

Responsibilities: The Campaign Coordinator’s responsibilities may include:

·      Cultivating new partnerships, reaching out to opinion leaders and coordinating large outreach efforts,

·      Planning convenings; organizing and running meetings,

·      Writing campaign materials,

·      Coordinating group projects and support needs,

·      Helping plan campaign strategy,

·      Speaking publicly on behalf of Public Citizen,

·      Fundraising and contributing to grant reports,

·      Helping recruit contractors,

·      Recruiting and supervising interns,

·      Developing the group’s social media plan,

·      Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ideally candidates will demonstrate highly relevant:

Work Experience: Three or more years of professional experience with foundations, social justice, public interest, labor or community groups preferred. Management or supervisory experience a plus.

Skills: Strong communications skills required.

Knowledge: Familiarity with global development, health or access to medicines issues a plus.

Capabilities: Professionalism; discretion and good judgment; flexibility and ability to respond quickly to new developments; ability to envision project development and complete work on deadline; commitment to standing up to corporate power.
