Global Citizens Initiative (GCI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to engage, educate and empower the next generation of Global Citizens. The cornerstone of GCI is its annual Youth Summit for youth ages 16-18 from around the globe. GCI is a start-up organization and as such, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of GCI’s work in addition to leading its Marketing and Development initiatives. Those who have an interest in education, international cultures and social enterprise will enjoy working at this mission-driven organization.

GCI is at a critical juncture in its growth and is preparing for its 6th Annual Youth Summit, 2nd Annual Professional Development Seminar and 1st Annual Global Education Forum, all to be held in Tokyo, Japan during the summer of 2019. The role of Senior Manager, Marketing and Development presents an exciting opportunity to meaningfully contribute to a dynamic organization that is at a critical juncture in its growth.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Marketing and Communications

The Senior Manager will use technology to curate how GCI presents itself to its community and the general public. From advising the President on presentations for a major donor to ensuring the language on all communications is consistent and compelling, the Senior Manager is responsible for GCI’s messaging across all platforms and materials. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the GCI website, brochures, pitch materials and presentations, social media, email marketing, editorial blogs and newsletters, press and media relations, marketing videos and the GCI annual report. A strong foundation in the technical aspects of marketing is essential to this role, including the ability to create marketing materials and presentations using multiple software programs, edit photos, drive search engine optimization, and post across various social media platforms.

·Fundraising and Grants

The Senior Manager will also play an integral role in fundraising and stewarding donors from initial engagement through solicitation to reporting on outcomes. Responsibilities include creating outreach campaigns, engaging with prospective and active donors and creating and delivering presentations to thank our donors and other supporters. The Senior Manager will support the President on her outreach to foundations and individual donors and oversee follow-up for these opportunities. S/he will identify grant opportunities and write grant proposals.

GCI Community Engagement

The Senior Manager spearheads outreach to and meaningful communications with the GCI Community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to engagement with current and previous Youth Summit participants and their parents, Board members, individual donors and other supporters. Working with the GCI team s/he coordinates and plans events such as GCI reunions, donor lunches and dinners and various special events throughout the year.

Qualifications:


·  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from an accredited college/university

·  Minimum of 10 years of overall work experience which includes marketing and communications, business development and/or fundraising

·  Skilled in writing successful grant proposals

·  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·  Significant experience using Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator and Microsoft Office (PPT)

·  Experience with CRM software
