Position Summary: 

The Director of Communications is accountable directly to the Vice President for Development and Communications. This position is responsible for supervision of the Marketing and Communications Manager.

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generates multi-channel communications strategy for all organizational publications, leading brainstorming sessions and following up with program staff and Communications and Marketing Manager to implement.
  • Generates health-related marketing strategies for current and prospective patients with approval of Vice President, Health Services, and health program leaders.
  • Prepare, edit, and/or manage all communications material to include digital, video, audio, and print content.
  • Partner with outreach teams to implement engaging community events.
  • Serves as first point of contact for press requests and coordinates press requests.
  • Oversees graphic design of print and online publications and overall adherence to brand integrity.
  • Support communications and event logistics for press conferences and/or other events hosted by Community of Hope.
  • Track audience engagement across various platforms and make data-driven decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience required. Masters or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5-7 years communication and marketing experience required.
  • Proficiency with all social media platforms, Google Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, Drupal8, HTML, and email service providers.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Experience supervising required.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, social service environment a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, including internet and Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends required.
