Summary

The Rian Immigrant Center is seeking a full-time licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who will provide culturally responsive, short-term, and long-term counseling and case management to adult immigrant clients on the Resource and Support Services (RSS) team.

Primary Responsibilities Include

Counseling

o Provide counseling and therapy services to adult immigrant and refugee individuals and families for a variety of needs including; anxiety, depression, homesickness, loneliness and isolation, and trauma due to pre, peri and post migration.

o Support Rian staff with client crisis management and consultations as needed.

o Formulate and implement treatment goals and objectives in collaboration with clients.

o Screen and assess clients for safety in crisis or emergency situations, facilitating referrals to appropriate services. Plan for follow-up and aftercare as needed.

o Demonstrate a human-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach.

o Seek clinical guidance from the Director of RSS as needed and participate in weekly supervision. Case Management

o Provide trauma-informed, comprehensive case management for refugee and immigrant clients to help them feel safe and empowered.

o Coordinate counseling efforts with external mental health and/or medical professionals as appropriate and act as a liaison between clients and service providers.

o Complete initial needs assessments, referrals, assist in scheduling appointments, and provide accompaniment and advocacy around accessing essential and hard-to-obtain services when appropriate


Other

o Collaborate with and assist Director of RSS, Manager of RSS, MSW Intern, and/or volunteers with other duties as needed.

o Stay abreast of agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to immigration and social services.

o Maintain excellent case file quality by ensuring complete and timely documentation of intakes, assessments, service plans, case notes, and progress notes.

o Provides data and feedback, as needed, for bi-monthly and grant reports.

o Participate in team and agency-wide meetings, planning activities, professional development, and events, as able.

o Support colleagues in responding to the urgent or unanticipated needs of clients.


Qualifications

o A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited university. LCSW in the state of MA required.

o Bilingual in Spanish and English with the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in both languages strongly preferred.

o Commitment to and experience in working with and providing services to a wide range of racial and ethnic populations.

o Some familiarity with immigration law and policy preferred.

o A commitment to the overall mission and values of the Rian Immigrant Center.

o Advanced interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with various healthcare professionals and to develop and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with individuals and families.

o Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve immigrant and refugee populations.

o Ability to use Google Suite applications, and basic Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

o Knowledge of telemedicine services.

o This position is temporarily remote.
