Position Overview: SNS seeks a part-time (20 hours a week) Communications & Programs Associate who will wear a number of hats to help further the mission of SNS, a young social justice nonprofit working to become a national movement. The ideal candidate for this role has a keen attention to detail, is a confident communicator ready to represent SNS’ voice across channels, and is also a self-starter energized by problem solving and the possibility of building a better org. A commitment to social justice and racial equity is required to for this position.

Mission & Vision: Service Never Sleeps’ (SNS) vision is a world where equal rights, justice, and opportunity are available to all. We empower individuals and communities to catalyze social justice through service and Allyship.

Employment Term and Compensation: This is a permanent, part-time (20 hours/week) position. P/T staff benefits include competitive pay (30-35k), generous paid time off, access to training and development resources to meet organizational goals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Communications: 

a. Leading SNS’s public communications across newsletter and social media platforms. Building a sustainable communications plan that includes a monthly calendar and templates for SNS communications.

b. Developing new content and driving weekly social media outputs (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) that continue ongoing narrative development related to SNS programming

c. Communications around special fundraising campaigns (End of Year, #GivingTuesday, etc)

d. Execute weekly Love-In-Action digest to Fellows, a regular compilation of mission related and timely articles related to the work of SNS

e. Serving as primary liaison for public inquiries related to SNS training opportunities and managing communication with enrolled training participants on behalf of SNS.

f. Performing ad-hoc updates to SNS website

g. Google adwords management

2. Programs

a. Under guidance of COO, leading nonprofit site recruitment and Fellow recruitment (development of recruitment materials, re-engaging existing partners, outreach to new potential partners, handling inquiries, etc.)

b. Providing ongoing administrative support as needed, such as prep and follow up for monthly Fellowship sessions or regular SNS trainings 

3. Data

a. Compiling ongoing programming data (Allyship and Fellowship)

b. Developing EOY impact report.

4. Events (TBD)

a. Allyship Summit (summer) coordination (advertising, recruiting, and logistics)

b. Primary coordination of 72-hour MLK Day Weekend service marathon

5. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to SNS’ Allyship mission and goal of shared humanity

• Experience with social media and written content intended to engage, recruit, and inform audiences.

• Strong written and oral communication skills and an excitement to help drive the public communications of SNS

• A flexible problem solver who is able to independently navigate between tasks and employ an action-oriented, innovative approach to assignments

• Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

• Strong organizational abilities including planning and time management development

• Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, and mission-driven.


We are currently operating a full telework environment and will return to an office environment only once the pandemic has subsided.
