ABOUT FRESH YOUTH INITIATIVES (FYI):  FYI is a dynamic community-based organization that offers immigrant and first generation youth the tools, supports, and caring relationships that enable them to navigate transitions, connect to their community, flourish in school, and get on track to college and career.  Founded in 1993, FYI operates programs across five sites in Washington Heights/Inwood where 1,200 children participate in after school programs, summer camps, service learning, advisory, and mental health services.  As a result of community needs that arose during the pandemic, FYI transformed itself from a single service youth organization to a multi-service organization that bolsters fragile families through food relief, social services and mental health counseling.
