Sierra Nevada Journeys’ camp is located in Northern California in the Plumas National Forest which is part of the Sierra Nevada mountains, just north of Lake Tahoe. Also, school-based programs occur out of our Reno, NV and Sacramento, CA locations.

OPIs live off site in homes in the nearby town of Portola, CA, with your fellow colleagues (included in your compensation package); you’ll have extensive BEETLES training – the unique research-based approach to teaching science by the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley.

Many of our instructors stay with us year after year as a testament to their overall quality of work and life with Sierra Nevada Journeys.
