Description

Partners In Health (PIH) has been an innovator in the development and implementation of health information systems (HIS) in support of improved care delivery and clinical operations in global health for over 15 years. Leading this effort within PIH is the Medical Informatics team, which focuses on open-source software development and the configuration, implementation, and utilization of a portfolio of HIS application platforms.  The Project Manager / Business Analyst plays a key role on this team, working closely with senior leadership to track and communicate the status of all current projects, to plan and prioritize future work, to analyze and document project requirements, and to be a vocal and visible representative throughout the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

HIS Project Management (60%)

 

  • Facilitate the development of new project plans, estimates, and budgets
  • Maintain up-to-date project plans; monitor budgets, timelines, dependencies, and risks
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define/refine the scope of projects
  • Develop and maintain communication and productive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Assist with optimizing resource allocation, leveraging both internal and external teams
  • Lead project kickoff meetings; iteration planning meetings; daily scrums; retrospectives
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date project artifacts and documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date, curated, and prioritized backlogs and roadmaps
  • Manage and escalate project issues and roadblocks as appropriate
  • Manage, track, and communicate grant milestones against committed deliverables

 

Software Business Analysis (40%)

 

  • Develop functional requirements for new and existing HIS software components
  • Conduct user interviews and undertake analyses of existing processes and systems
  • Document and communicate functional requirements to stakeholders and engineering
  • Create user-interface (UI) mock-ups and undertake user-experience (UX) design:
  • Undertake comprehensive software testing
  • Document functionality in user guides to communicate system capabilities
  • Lead and participate in regular meetings with global teams
  • Travel frequently to PIH country sites to support HIS analysis and implementation


Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in software project management
  • Experience working as a software business analyst strongly desired
  • Experience managing full life-cycle projects within established deadlines and budgets
  • Strong organizational and oral and written communication skills
  • Effective at eliciting, interpreting, and communicating end-user needs in detail
  • Agile Project Management, UI/UX design experience strongly desirable
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse, globally distributed staff
  • Interest and willingness to travel and work for extended stretches where PIH operates
  • Fluency in French and/or Haitian Kreyol desirable.
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable.
