The next Executive Director of ACR Health will be a proven leader who inspires and motivates those within and outside of the organization. They will be a seasoned leader and have superior coaching and mentoring abilities. They will have a collaborative and transparent leadership style and are themselves open to growth and learning as a leader. The next Executive Director will position ACR Health as a leader in the field and seek out mission driven strategies to not only sustain and strengthen the work of the agency that aligns with a strategic vision, but also to develop, implement, and execute new client focused services that are relevant, sustainable, and within the agency’s core competencies. The next Executive Director will also have substantial experience leading organizations through periods of change and growth, with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Core Responsibilities 

 

Leadership & Management/Organizational Development

●     Understand the mission and values of the organization, the people that are served by the agency, staff, policies and procedures, and its programs, finances, and fundraising efforts.

●     Work with the Board of Directors to launch a new strategic planning process; oversee implementation and data tracking efforts throughout the agency.

●     Assess and improve organizational infrastructure; determine most appropriate alignment of programs, staffing, and resources to meet mid to long term goals of the organization.

●     Lead efforts to embed a continuous improvement mindset into all aspects of ACR Health’s operations including compliance, quality assurance, and quality improvement.

●     Develop and execute plan for new lines of business, anticipating areas for investment and growth via research and assessment.

●     Ensure a marketing strategy for the agency that is current, aligned with agency goals, and uses best practices and data to inform decision making.

●     Recruit and retain outstanding staff, with a firm commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Create a culture of continuous learning and improvement, accountability, respect, and a “one team” mentality.

·      Position ACR Health as a leader in the community; build and cultivate external relationships, with an eye towards collaborative partnerships. Provide thought leadership inside and outside of the agency


Financial Acumen

●     Comfort with and ability to strategically understand the finances of the agency, as well as make informed financial decisions.

●     Work with the Finance Department to ensure the team is operating efficiently and effectively. Ensure monitoring reports that assess the financial health of the overall organization as well as individual programs and that operating budgets are developed, followed, and utilized throughout the agency.

●     Work with the Development team to assess fund development priorities, with an emphasis on break even or profitable programs/events, growth of unrestricted dollars, and the establishment of an agency endowment fund.

●     Design pathways for revenue generation that are aligned with core competencies and are financially sustainable.

 

Board of Directors Relations

●     Establish a strong working relationship with the Board, particularly the Board Chair.

●     Facilitate effective meetings by way of streamlined agendas and committee structures in partnership with the Board.

●     Ensure timely and transparent access to information including reports, financials, and/or other types of analyses. Take a proactive and collaborative approach to information sharing.

●     Keep the Board up to date on high level strategy via weekly updates to the Board.

Professional Background and Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit setting. They will have a high degree of emotional intelligence, be a strategic thinker, excellent communicator and motivator, and have demonstrated experience in building a healthy and vibrant work culture.

 

Required qualifications:

●     Outstanding people manager and team builder, both internally and externally.

●     Excellent change management skills, with demonstrated experience leading teams through organizational improvements.

●     Must have sound business and financial acumen and experience with organizational development, assessment, execution, and accountability. 

●     Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive culture of data for the organization.

●     Proven track record of managing budgets and finances; ability to set forth a financial strategy for the organization and empower the team to execute.

●     Experience working directly with and partnering with a Board of Directors.

●     Experience with New York State and national funding and overseeing complicated funding streams.

●     Experience with fund development and donor stewardship.

●     Track record of leading strategic planning initiatives, particularly with diverse teams. 

●     Demonstration of commitment to the populations ACR Health serves.

●     Comfort and experience with being the face of the agency and representing the agency in local/regional/statewide initiatives. Excellent public speaking skills.

●     Unwavering integrity, ethics, and commitment to transparent and authentic leadership.

 

Education

BA or BS from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree in public or business administration, or a similar field, strongly preferred.
