Summary
Schedule: days, evenings, weekends and on-call (3 week rotation) - We are currently working in the office and remotely: Temporarily due to COVID-19. Please note that to minimize the spread of COVID-19, DC SAFE employees are currently teleworking and in the office also. This position will also be expected to work from the DC SAFE Washington, DC offices once we determine it is safe to do so.
DC SAFE is is seeking to hire an On-Calls Supervisor who are self-aware individuals committed to service, equity, integrity, and excellence.
Advocates offer direct services to victims of domestic violence on a 24/7 calendar and at various entry points including but not limited to: DC SAFE’s 24-hour 800 number, ride-along, on call, in the DVICs, in Court and at the DC SAFE’s Crisis Shelter. Advocates primarily assist SAFE clients through direct services and programmatic duties.
DC SAFE advocates serve as a direct link to community resources to assist victims in maintaining their safety and fulfilling immediate social service needs through short-term case management. DC SAFE Advocates also provide systems advocacy by providing feedback to the court, the police, and other actors within the legal system regarding their impact on survivors.

Qualifications

Background and Experience
1-2 years of experience with crisis intervention work
1-2 years of experience managing others preferred.
Applicants with mandatory 40-hour advocacy training completed preferred.
Bilingual applicants preferred.
Experience with domestic violence issues and DC social service resources.
Attention to detail and ability to closely follow protocol and procedures is a must.
Experience working with law enforcement preferred.
Comfortable working with diverse populations.
Experience with the criminal and civil legal system preferred.
Reliable transportation
