ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt level position in Mountain View, California. There are six (6) of these positions available.    

Work will be conducted remotely due to the pandemic, and we will be accepting applicants from anywhere in California. 

Additional hours may be required as needed throughout the year; November and December are considered peak season.

JOB SUMMARY

Silicon Valley Community Foundation is seeking a skilled individuals to join a focused team providing oversight for the community foundation’s grants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations and organization policies. This team is responsible for the integrity of each transaction, verifying grantee information, entering data and preparing grant award letters.

Reporting to a donor services officer, this position is responsible for enabling a world-class donor experience through timely grant processing, ensuring grant compliance and accuracy and providing exceptional customer service for colleagues and grantees. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process donor advised, supporting organization, designated, nonprofit investment and competitive grants, including data entry, conducting due diligence and verifying grant compliance for domestic and international grant recommendations.
  • Answer client inquiries from grantees and colleagues regarding grant status and procedures.
  • Provide timely, responsive and professional customer service throughout SVCF.
  • Prepare grant award letters, grant agreements and other correspondence, verifying accuracy before mailing.
  • Work with the donor services team to improve processing, procedures and to problem-solve.
  • Assist with special projects as needed, such as database updates, templates and workgroup participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSETS

  • Minimum of two years of college or relevant work experience.
  • Aptitude to think critically and creatively.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to perform tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with specific deadlines while delivering high quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly shifting and evolving workplace.
  • Experience with customer service and web-based research.
  • Accepts responsibility and follows through on assignments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with diverse people and in diverse groups.
  • Strong software skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook. Ability to learn new systems quickly; database experience, particularly GrantedGE and Raiser’s Edge preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as analytical skills.
  • Strong sense of office protocol and discretion.
  • Ability and willingness to work additional hours as needed.
