Friends of Holly Hill Farm is a non-profit educational organic farm organization which leases and operates an organic farm, located in Cohasset, MA , on 5+ acres, using sustainable methods. We also offer many programs including afterschool and summer camps, farm to food pantry initiatives,and collaborations with area schools to create gardens.  Additionally, we run adult programming throughout the year. The property has been owned by one family for seven generations and includes historic barns from which we sell our produce.

Friends of Holly Hill Farm (FHHF) is searching for an Executive Director (ED) to skillfully lead the organization through short- and long-term planning as we work toward purchasing the farm. In this time of transition planning, we seek an entrepreneurial, energetic, inspiring leader with financial and fundraising experience as well as strong strategic, management and communication skills. You'll be involved in farming, farm education, teaching, community relations, fundraising, event planning, financial planning, and strategic planning.

The ED will drive the organization’s mission working collaboratively with lead staff members in Education, Farming, Operations, Fundraising, and Administration along with the Board of Directors. Reporting directly to the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, the ED is expected to manage FHHF’s operation, develop its strategic direction, and ensure its organizational sustainability.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Work in partnership with the Board and lead staff members in creating short- and long-term strategic plans and continue to ensure the flow of funds to achieve these plans. Develop and maintain a close, first-hand understanding of all Farming and Educational programs to maximize mission impact through strategic planning and community engagement. For each area of focus ensure adequate funding, staffing and infrastructure to ensure we achieve our goals.

Fundraising: Responsible for creation and implementation of an approved development plan, oversee grant writing efforts, provide logistical and strategic support for fundraising events and collaborate with the Board to lead donor cultivation activities.

Education Programs and Farming: Collaborate with staff leadership and stakeholders on creation and implementation of short- and long-term plans.

Community Relations/Marketing Outreach: Provide inspirational leadership to the FHHF community; serve as the public face of the farm, maintain and expand organizational partnerships with town, schools and similar organizations. Manage and engage community members. Facilitate coordination of Board members, staff and volunteers to deliver outreach events.

Organizational Responsibilities: Create and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment which allows for autonomy, professional growth and collaboration with the FHHF Team in strengthening operational and administrative systems and infrastructure. Responsible for overall financial plan and budget. Support/advise the Board of Directors (BOD) to identify and execute board development priorities, ensure BOD support, attend BOD meetings.

Recommended Qualifications:

5+ years successfully leading a nonprofit or comparable management experience Compelling communicator and successful community/relationship builder

Fundraising experience and cultivator of individual/corporate gifts

Possess an entrepreneurial spirit

Strategic thinker, experienced manager, decisive operator, inspiring leader

Able to work as a member of a team with an appreciation for achieving balance between organization-wide and programmatic goals
