Turning the Page (TTP) (www.turningthepage.org), a dynamic non-profit organization that has engaged public school parents to be more active and effective participants in their children’s education for more than 22 years, is seeking a Director of Programs for its Chicago office. Community Nights and Summer learning - Parents receive skills and resources to become more effective educators of and advocates for their children. We hold Community Nights at each of our partner schools, combining parent workshops, author visits, child mentoring, a family dinner and book distributions. During the summer, TTP plans and implements learning experiences for families at places such as area museums. In the digital space, this program is now called the Family Room.

First and Forever (Virtual program called Mobile Meetings) - Parents receive one-on-one coaching to enhance at-home learning and strengthen parent-teacher relationships.

Digital Hub - Developed during the pandemic, and provided via app and website, TTP provides participating families with access to learning resources across reading, math, science and social emotional learning.

School Community Leadership – Turning the Page provides public school parents with leadership development and support and teachers and school staff with professional development on how to more effectively engage parents.

Director of Programs will, in collaboration with TTP President and CEO and team members, develop and strengthen the community partnerships necessary for Turning the Page to successfully implement its programs. These partnerships will be with universities, museums, government agencies, local service organizations and complementary non-profit organizations.

Thought Leadership – In collaboration with President and CEO and team members in both TTP cities, Director of Programs shall develop and help implement workshops and training opportunities that utilize Turning the Page expertise in engaging parents and assist community partners with more effectively engagement parents in their programs.
