    Description

    The Senior Accountant would be responsible for various accounts reconciliations, variance analysis, assisting in audit and budget preparation. In addition will assist in the month-end and year-end close, variance analysis and other general needs of the finance department. As a part of the accounting team, you will be involved in all aspects of accounting and deliverable deadlines

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts. This would mean collaborating with both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure that all entries are in the general ledger accounting system.
    2. Ensure that daily banking transactions are posted accurately and timely.
    3. Perform all duties related to filing yearly 1099 tax forms. Ensure that the 1099 vendors are updated and current.
    4. Prepare the monthly Patient Service Revenue journal entry. Reconcile and analyze all facets of the entry as they relate to the monthly and yearly close.
    5. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
    6. Ensure that the monthly payroll entries are correct and ready for upload in the accounting system.
    7. Ensure that all annual external audit assignments are delivered with accuracy according to auditors’ and management’s timeline and deadlines.
    8. Fixed Assets management.
    9. Work with outside consultants to complete all required FQHC reports.
    10. Develop a working knowledge of the Accounts Payable system.
    11. Understand the Accounts Receivables source documents and how to access the information. Have a working knowledge of the Bank of America remote deposit system.
    12. Understand and have a working knowledge of the payroll system.
    13. Work with CFO/Controller to develop monthly reports to encourage meaningful decision-making.
    14. Other duties as required and requested by direct supervisor and senior management.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or business-related field.
    2. At least 5-7 years’ experience in the direct practice of accounting, preferably with experience in the health care industry or in a not for profit.
    3. Candidate must have solid understanding of GAAP, Reconciliations….

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Strong analytical skills as well as excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    2. Flexible with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
    3. Ability to work independently and closely with others.
    4. Demonstrated ability to create and analyze complex spread sheets.
    5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially the ability to use Excel to create and establish simple and complex spreadsheets.
    6. Knowledge of Peachtree Accounting Software and QuickBooks.
