Job Profile and Description:

The Exodus Immigrant Reentry Program (EIRP) is based in East Harlem and Newburgh New York – two locations with a high number of people with immigration status, and communities impacted by the justice system and mass incarceration. The goals of the EIRP are to provide advocacy, support and wrap-around case management services for individuals and their families with immigration status who are justice impacted. This program will conduct peer outreach in these communities and assist participants with the skills, tools and opportunities needed to lead successful lives for themselves, their families and their communities. Through a trauma informed, and cultural competency lens, we will work with each individual to identify their most pressing needs, connect them to services, and provide them with the tools and resources needed to heal from the trauma, reunify with family, set goals, and find support. This will be done by providing wrap-around case management, access to immediate basic needs (such as food), employment/educational programs, individual, couple and family therapy, substance use disorder treatment, medical services, and support groups

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct outreach and coordinate the activity of peer outreach workers in the community;

• Complete individual assessments and service plans for all participants;

• Provide quality service coordination of services to ensure participants are receiving needed services;

• Ensure the delivery of employment readiness services as outlined in the Exodus Contract;

• Provide ongoing case management services;

• Remain in regular communication (in-person, phone calls, text messages) with participants;

• Communicate with public defenders and other legal advocates to assist with successful court outcomes;

• Promote family reunification and support;

• Develop a working knowledge of local community services and make appropriate referrals;

• Support the delivery of outreach and educational events;

• Record data on performance targets in a timely, accurate and detailed manner; and,

· Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or its equivalent and five years’ experience working with the justice-impacted and/or immigrant population OR Associate degree in humanities, human services or related field and three years’ experience working with the justice-impacted population;

· Knowledge of US immigration laws and systems

· Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;

· Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;

· Ability to maintain professional boundaries;

· Bi-lingual, English/Spanish;

· Individuals directly impacted by incarceration or immigration strongly encouraged to apply
