JOB SUMMARY

The Recruiter contributes to the mission of Plymouth Housing by attracting, sourcing and recruiting diverse pools of talent that meet the organization’s needs and its strategic plan goals related to diversity and hiring. Working as a consultative partner to hiring managers, the Recruiter is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment and selection process by ensuring that consistent, equitable, and non-discriminatory hiring practices are followed. The Recruiter fosters a positive applicant experience by communicating responsively and promoting Plymouth’s mission and unique culture. This position is a regular, benefited, full-time position.

Plymouth Housing Group is non-profit organization with 160+ employees and an annual operating budget of over $21 million. Our mission is to eliminate homelessness and stabilize homeless and very-low-income people in housing by preserving, developing, and operating safe, decent, affordable housing, and by providing opportunities for homeless and very-low-income people to improve their lives. Plymouth owns and operates 13 apartment buildings in the downtown Seattle corridor, providing permanent homes to over 1,000 people.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Conduct full-cycle recruitment, in collaboration with hiring managers, including developing or updating job descriptions, identifying the recruitment strategy, posting openings, sourcing potential applicants, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting thorough employment references and background checks, and preparing job offers.

• Post and distribute position postings on job boards, websites, and through community partners.

• Manage ongoing communication and recruiting process through recruitment software.

• Ensure recruitment and hiring process steps are followed consistently and in compliance with applicable union contract and regulatory requirements.

• Engage in the recruitment process and with candidates from a strong understanding of equity and cultural competency.

• Create a positive applicant and hiring manager experience. Train hiring managers on hiring process, relevant tools, and recruiting software. Collaborate with hiring managers in developing interview questions. Maintain clear communication with and expectations to candidates and hiring managers about the process, approvals, and timeline. Provide timely notification to candidates about selection decisions.

• Respond to inquiries from applicants. Troubleshoot online application process issues.

• Work with the Compliance team on determining candidate eligibility for live-in staff apartments.

• Maintain confidentiality throughout the hiring process.

• Offer recommendations for wage determinations by considering union contract wage schedule, salary ranges, and internal equity.

• Manage the internal transfers and promotion process.

• Provide standard and custom reports to help inform decision-making.

• Update and distribute weekly Recruitment and Staff Changes Report to all staff.

• Compile data for the annual affirmative action plan.

• Build pool of potential applicants for regularly recurring job openings.

• Develop a strategic recruitment outreach plan that includes contacts with schools, associations, alumni groups, and other organizations. Proactively network within the community. Attend job fairs and other events to promote job opportunities at Plymouth.

• Track Employee Referral Program submissions in coordination with Human Resources Coordinator.

• Work closely with Human Resources Coordinator, who provides administrative support for the recruitment process.

• Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment and workflow that will improve efficiency and support Plymouth’s commitment to diversity.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

(Any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience)


Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience.


Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in high-volume, customer service-oriented environment.


Knowledge and Skills:

• Consultative and customer service skills are essential. Must be effective and comfortable interacting with employees at all levels and applicants of all backgrounds.

• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

• High aptitude for developing the trust of hiring managers, peers and candidates.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment of change, challenge and multiple deadlines/priorities demonstrating organization, flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy.

• Strong attention to details to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

• Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office applications; particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Experience using customized databases and conducting Internet research.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Human Resources-related experience.

• Work or volunteer experience in the nonprofit sector.


COMPENSATION

$21.48 - $25.53 per hour
