Summary: ​This full-time position is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of school-wide communications, including emails, website, and social media. Also creates graphic designs for printed and digital materials as well as video filming and editing.

Key Responsibilities include:

  •  Manage Waring’s website (​www.waringschool.org​) including content generation, layout and editing.
  •  Produce all of Waring’s print and digital communications, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Marketing, including but not limited to: all school emails, website stories, press releases, admission materials, summer program materials, invitations, fundraising outreach, annual report, and all other digital and print collateral.
  • Manage Waring’s social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, YouTube, SmugMug, and the Waring Blog.
  • Film and edit video footage.
  •  Handle school cancellation announcements.
  • Photograph school events and campus life.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 year’s related experience in journalism, communications or marketing. (Education and internships count toward experience.)
  •  Dexterity with social media platforms required.
  • Website creation, content management, and/or editing experience required. HubSpot experience preferred..
  • Experience sending bulk emails required. HubSpot or MailChimp experience desirable.
  • Understanding of basic principles of writing, journalism, and copy-editing required.
  • Ability to think critically, strategically, and creatively with an eye towards marketing.
  • Ability to effectively interface with constituents of a school environment including faculty, staff, students, board members, alumni and parents. Skilled in diplomacy, and tact, uses good discretion, and has ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Meticulous organizational, project, and time management skills. Must have ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a highly collaborative atmosphere.
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform many different functions.
  •  Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive Apps is required and experience with Adobe Creative Applications like Lightroom, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro is preferred.
  • Familiarity and/or affiliation with Waring School desirable.

Note​: Those interested in a part-time position with some of these responsibilities are encouraged to apply, since this role could potentially be shared between two part-time employees.

Salary is commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package included, including retirement plan with match, health, dental, vision and life insurance, and Waring 50% tuition remission for dependent children after one year of service. Six weeks paid vacation time includes one week during December break, one week during spring break, and four weeks in the summer.
