The Finance department is responsible for the overall integrity of the Society’s financial activities and provides timely and accurate financial information, protects Society assets, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws from a financial and fiduciary vantage point. With an emphasis on accuracy, integrity, and insight, the Finance Division strives to be a value added partner to ensure that we have adequate financial resources to support the overall mission of the Society
The Finance Department’s major areas of responsibility include financial planning (budgets and forecasts), accounting and reporting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, gift processing, tax returns and compliance, risk management, investment oversight and treasury management.
The Lead Analyst will be the Financial Planning & Analysis contact for specific business areas, working to facilitate the day to day finance operations of these areas. Responsibilities include preparing and consolidating annual budgets and forecasts, reviewing and approving workflow transactions, monthly close process and variance analysis, and providing business advisory support. Position works closely with division leads in a fast-paced environment, delivering on goals and objectives with minimal oversight. Applies very strong Microsoft Excel skills to efficiently manipulate and analyze large amounts of data. Prepares multi-scenario business models to assist with management decision making, using analytical expertise to make recommendations. Utilizes strong interpersonal skills to support project managers at all levels, with a willingness to assist in teaching them how to access the information they need. Works with Financial Planning & Analysis leads and other team members to roll up division reporting into Executive Management reports and responds to requests from Management, including revenue and philanthropy needs. May provide occasional direction and support to other Financial Planning & Analysis Analysts, regarding approach to assigned tasks.Your Impact
Responsibilities Include
Educational background
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
7+ years of Financial Planning & Analysis or Accounting experience that includes interfacing with organizational leadership and working with many groups within an organization. Work experience includes providing financial analytical data to business groups and providing training and advice to such groups to help them make business decisions.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Basic knowledge of GAAP accounting rules.
Very strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to use pivot tables and other advanced formulas.
Ability to manage time and meet frequent deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
