Brain Injury Services (BIS) is a non-profit organization with a mission empower those impacted by brain injury.

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Manager of Development is primarily responsible for the strategic development and implementation of fundraising; and, to assist in the development of community engagement/advocacy plans that demonstrate the effective engagement of Brain Injury Services’ key constituencies (clients, families/caregivers, community supporters, funders, legislators and prospective funders).

The Development Manager is responsible for:

·      setting the organization's strategic fundraising agenda to achieve and/or exceed its revenue goals through the solicitation(s) of individuals, events, corporate and foundation grants.

·      developing consistent fundraising strategies to engage new donors; working with staff in creating community engagement and advocacy strategies designed to grow the donor base; and, communicating effectively with the board of directors on fundraising goals and activities. 

·      working with marketing and communications to build effective internal and external communications strategies and messages around fundraising and data/information management. The Manager is responsible for managing, updating and maintaining donor/constituent data in the CRM.

·      The manager also will establish regular report-outs to senior staff on projects.


Position Responsibilities:

1.    Responsible for developing an annual comprehensive development plan, in collaboration with the Executive Director, or designee, with targeted goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines which will achieve budgeted goals.

2.    Responsible for developing and monitoring a realistic annual fund budget with realistic revenue and expense projections.

3.    Create public facing dashboard (or impact analysis) to include BIS programs, services and fundraising goals.

4.    Analyze program outcome and event data with managers to position BIS ROI

5.    Investigate possibilities of program partnerships and strategic alliances that will extend the organization's brand in the community and increase support.

6.    Produce the annual report for stakeholder and website distribution.

7.    Monitor the website for accuracy and ensure it remains up to date on programs and ways to donate. 

8.    Create a quarterly newsletter with fundraising as the call to action.

9.    Responsible for working with programs to create new events that will enhance revenue.

10. Manage the production and distribution of quality BIS materials that support programs; recognizes funders and drives donations.

11. Assist with the cultivation of civic organizations, corporate, foundation and business representatives via presentations and planned visits.

12. Maintain the staff web page to ensure it is reviewed/updated monthly.

13. Generate “thank you” correspondence to donors and sponsors.

14. Maintain positive and responsive relationships with all program managers.

15. Understands the value of reporting to Executive Director and management team on a regular basis

16. Create or assist in the production of material for programs, i.e., flyers/brochures and ensure brand standards are consistent.

17. Maintain deep understanding of the BIS CRM system and assist staff with learning the system.

18. All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

·      Highly organized, great sense of humor, self-starter and motivated to work

·      Strong writing skills that captivate and influence a plus+

·      Excellent interpersonal skills

·      Bachelor's Degree required with at least 3 years’ experience in development. Master's degree or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) accreditation a plus+

·      Proven success in obtaining individual donations, event fundraising and/or corporate giving

·      High energy, creative, outgoing team player with a passion for the mission

·      Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel, and familiarity with Bloomerang or other CRM will be considered a plus+

 

Personal Skills: Outgoing, self-starter, highly organized, collaborative, good listener, creative, friendly, flexible, resourceful, good sense of humor. Must have great problem-solving and analytical skills. Highly self-motivated and directed.

Administrative Skills: Excellent attention to details and follow through. Ability to work effectively in teams of diverse people and organizations. Strong organizational and follow-through skills and a strong ability to manage projects, interns and/or volunteer.

Technical Skills: Knowledge and proficient with computer software for content design and publishing, social media platforms, and web base platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and word press.
