Position Summary: The Human Resources Associate is responsible for applying business acumen and human resources expertise. The Human Resources Associate will assist in providing a wider range of HR support to the organization. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices.


Tasks and Responsibilities: This statement of duties is for purpose of identifying this position but it is not limited to:


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Implement and administer employee policies and procedures
  • Identify new programs to help improve the employee’s life cycle
  • Process new hires in the HRIS system, including but limited to: inputting new hires, terms, transfers, direct deposit, tax withholding, vacation payments, garnishments and adjustments
  • Maintain time and attendance including personal time accrual
  • Manage new hire orientation, background screening, payroll audits and other HR duties
  • Manage leave requests, including PFL, Disability and Worker’s Compensation
  • Process employment verification request, maintain personnel files, medical files and other storage

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in HR
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current Federal & State laws
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite and HRIS systems, specifically Paychex
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a professional setting
