Girl Up is a global leadership development initiative, positioning girls to be leaders in the movement for gender equality. Girl Up’s Development Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate partnerships, working to increase fundraising revenue with an annual goal of $1 million in new and renewed funding. This position will work to significantly expand annual revenue by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding corporate partners for Girl Up. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Development, Girl Up.
- Responsible for new business development and the stewardship and growth of an active, current portfolio of partnerships, including sponsorship, retail campaigns, corporate employee volunteerism, corporate giving campaigns, etc.
- Create and execute unique, engaging fundraising strategies to raise $$1,000,000 annually from corporate partners and individual donors with annual YOY growth.
- Measure, evaluate, analyze, and refine current fundraising strategies to enhance and grow sustainable revenue.
- Manage relationships by providing high touch communication and frequent opportunities for engagement; oversee stewardship activities; ensure a high-touch response rate and a high level of customer service and communication to partners.
- Collaborate with members of the Girl Up Programs and Communications teams to meet and achieve partnership deliverables and impact outcomes.
- Work with the Deputy Director of Development and Director of Development to strategize and enhance existing and new relationships including face to face meetings with existing partners and prospects.
- Create and manage corporate prospect pipeline, conducting relevant research on giving history, trends, capacity, and executive moves.
- Collaborate across departments to relay opportunities and expectations to/from prospects and Girl Up internal stakeholders.
- Work in collaboration with members of the Girl Up Development and Programs teams to discover areas of potential programming growth that can lead to new partnerships.
- Develop revenue projections and provide financial analysis on all partnerships within portfolio.
- Ensure fundraising data integrity and effective revenue and pipeline reporting by maintaining donor accounts in Salesforce and confirming that all relevant information is accurately recorded and updated.
- Manage database to facilitate moves management with prospects, moving them through various stages from prospecting to gift secured, negotiating benefits and giving levels, and finalizing agreements.
- Prepare fact sheets, proposals, decks, solicitations and other collateral for potential funders.

- College degree required.
- 6-8 years as a Development, fundraising or partnerships professional with a history of success in soliciting, cultivating and closing new corporate and individual gifts of minimum $500,000 (preferred experience $1M+).
- Entrepreneurial – willing to try new approaches and refine when needed.

- Ability to provide a high level of customer service to partners.
- Experience in project management, including establishing project scope, timelines, and execution.
- Possess the skills to effectively manage and maintain relationships.

- Be organized and prioritize follow-up and follow-through.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills to engage a wide range of individuals including high-level executives, partners, young professionals and youth participants.
- Strong skills working in teams and across many types of organizational structure – as a collaborator, problem solver, and relationship-builder, with strong inter-personal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; experience in Salesforce a plus.
- Collaborative, fun, and team-oriented.
- Location in a major market is a plus. Washington, DC, New York, Los Angeles or the Bay Area preferred.
- Flexible schedule with an ability to travel (up to 25%) and work evenings and weekends when necessary.
