Description

The Folger Theatre at the Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., is seeking an experienced Patron Services Manager (PSM) to direct overlapping activities of the front of house teams. The PSM will supervise the Box Office and House Management teams, focusing on the patron experience at a range of Folger public events, including but not limited to Folger Theatre, Folger Consort, Folger Poetry, readings, lectures, and other special events. Duties for this role include: supervision of Box Office and House Management staff to maintain successful ticketing and front of house operations for performances; audience development and care taking, as it pertains to direct contact with patrons; participation in creation and implementation of strategies for Public Programs marketing. The PSM will serve as a Public Programs liaison with Tessitura and TNEW and collaborate with the Advancement team on cultivation and stewardship plans. Additionally, they will work closely with Security and the Office of Special Events to coordinate scheduling and accommodations for patrons with accessibility needs. This is a full-time position with regular evening and weekend hours, and comes with a generous benefits package. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a B.A. or equivalent experience, with a minimum of four years of box office or front of house experience. Practical Tessitura experience and at least one year of management/supervisory experience is required. Experience with budgeting and reconciling box office and/or concessions income is needed. Candidates for this position must maintain an ABRA Manager’s License and a food safety license, or the ability to obtain the necessary licenses. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills are required, as is the proven ability to market and work in a busy customer service environment. Must be able to navigate a multilevel theater, which includes stairs and ramps, in dark or low light conditions.
