Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Data Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate The Senior Data Services Analyst develops, maintains, and supports the daily programming and reporting requirements of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs. In collaboration with the entire Data Services Team this individual also defines and analyzes data requirements in support of business processes and reporting deliverables

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proficiency in the most current content and structural use of the Development Offices donor database system, Advance.
  • Execute the specifications for standard and custom donor reporting in the Department. Maintain existing and write/program new reports in SQL for general and specific Departmental use and retrieval through Crystal Server or SSRS.
  • Ability to create and modify new and existing Crystal Reports (SAP 2013).
  • Utilizing SQL to assist in the development of data reporting in order to perform complex queries and data mining as required by the Office of Development.
  • Assists in the management of SSRS functions.
  • Design and develop SQL Server stored procedures, functions and views to be used during the ETL Process.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains various user-friendly dashboards in Tableau server using various reproducible data sources, stored procedures, view, calculations, and parameters.
  • Translates and refines departmental reporting requests into actionable objectives, including identifying criteria, fields, grouping, summary options, time frames and other components required to build a successful report/Viz in Tableau.
  • Uses Tableau to measure performance of business rules and models, interprets results, and makes recommendations based on analytic findings to business areas.
  • Conduct appropriate functional and performance testing to identify bottlenecks and data quality issues.
  • Manages the maintenance of existing Development reporting infrastructure including all objects and support scripts.
  • Manages the augmentation / clean up of existing data sources and ensure constituent data is current and enhanced to ensure the most effective use of all the information available.
  • Defines and manages the definition and development of data models which consist of entity types, attributes, relationships, integrity rules, and the definitions of those objects.
  • Defines and manages the design and development of the structure of data reporting tools to provide consistency of data across systems and to ensure that compatibility and access to data through different applications can be achieved.
  • Manages the development of integrated data streams and datasets from one platform to another. Assist in the on-going efforts to develop data dashboards pushing real time data for the Development Office.
  • Ability to troubleshoot SSIS packages and daily job scripts.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree OR equivalent experience and training.

Advanced Proficiency in SQL 

Extensive experience with Tableau (10), SQL Server (2008+), Crystal Reports, Business Objects

High Proficiency with Crystal Reports and working with Crystal in a server environment

High Proficiency with Advance or other relational and/or open architecture database systems

Fluency with desktop applications such as Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint 

Knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript a plus 

Understanding of fundraising and donor database management

Project management experience preferred

Ability to work independently on multiple projects while also working as a team player

Excellent writing and communication skills

Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Excellent time management, ability to multi-task and remain calm in fast-paced environment.
