Title: Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Food Bank For New York City’s Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will support the development and implementation of volunteer programs and activities.
The role is responsible for supporting volunteer recruitment, engagement, orientation, retention and recognition of volunteers and volunteer leaders to support Food Bank for New York City events, programs and departments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate all internal volunteer programming including opportunities at our Food Distribution Warehouse, Community Kitchen & Pantry, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, and Greenmarkets.
Support volunteer recruitment to improve project fullness.
Support volunteer retention, and recognition efforts, as well as provide volunteer customer service.
Coordinate and provide relationship management for growing number of Civic and Donor related partners, ensuring regular communication, acknowledgement and high level of responsiveness.
Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team to maximize use of website and social networks for volunteer recruitment and promotion of volunteer activity and events.
Support Annual Service Productions: MLK Day of Service, New York City Wine and Food Festival, and special events as assigned.
Volunteer Appreciation Month: Coordinate planning and execution of a month dedicated to volunteer recognition as well as an annual volunteer recognition event.
Provide day-of production support at Food Bank 2 Go custom service projects as needed.
Ensure accuracy of volunteer schedules, project fullness and volunteer attendance through Salesforce/Hands On Connect.
Ensure collection of volunteer sign-in sheets and attendance.
Provide monthly reporting on volunteer engagement.
BA or BS; advanced degree a plus;
Experience with data analysis, database management and Salesforce CRM
Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
Available for occasional weeknight and weekend experiences;
Knowledge of poverty issues (knowledge of hunger issues a strong plus);
Excellent organizational skills with a proven reputation for attention to detail;
Experience in managing volunteers, volunteer leaders and volunteer programming preferred;
Excellent communication and people skills: listening, one-on-one conversation, public speaking and writing;
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to project professional competence, leadership capability, & personal maturity;
