Development & Marketing Director

The Development & Marketing Director will craft and execute the strategic fundraising and community relations initiatives for Americans for Immigrant Justice with a focus on long-term sustainability and building brand awareness for the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to increase individual, corporate and institutional giving to include tracking and evaluation
• Major gifts (identification, cultivation, solicitation)
• Grants (research, writing, tracking)
• Annual fund (campaigns and drives)
• Events (major and other)
• Planned Giving (deferred and other)
• Acknowledgement and Recognition
• Develop, implement and monitor marketing and communications strategic and tactical initiatives in support of fundraising goals, enhance the organization’s visibility, and cultivate the brand (position as a leader in the field)
• Create digital strategy and oversee web presence that drives donations, grows awareness and measures the user experience
• Oversee creation of publications (newsletter, annual report, program reports, brochures)
• Manage media relations (press releases and conferences, story pitching, requests, tracking)
• Develop innovative social media campaigns (increase base and engagement)
• Target donor groups and influencer networks
• Maximize fundraising database and tracking system
• Work closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors and the Board Development Committee
• Supervise fundraising and communications staff, collaborate with other departments
• Oversee department budget
• Speaking engagements on behalf of the organization

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related field

5-7 years fundraising and communications experience

Record of successful major gift fundraising

Experience crafting communications strategy at the local and national level

Preferences

Master’s degree and/or CFRE and experience in legal or immigration based organization. Spanish fluency.
