Description

The Hunter College School of Education seeks a part-time Academic Affairs Assistant to support the work of the School of Education for our undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs. The School of Education enrolls over 3,000 students per year in graduate and undergraduate professional programs in the areas of teacher preparation, counseling, and school leadership, as well as graduate research programs, including CUNY’s only Doctor of Education (EdD). Reporting to the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs, the Academic Affairs Data Assistant has the following responsibilities including but not limited to:

Specific Duties

  • Utilize advanced skills in Excel and Google Suite to perform data management tasks to ensure data is up to date, is accurate at all times, and effectively supports the School of Education’s goals for student success.
  • Manage the curricular development process by maintaining overall organization to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is easily accessible to stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit and prepare curricular documentation.
  • Proactively anticipate future needs and take initiative to complete tasks not directly assigned, demonstrating the ability to think ahead and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve and streamline data management and develop new tools to meet data needs to continuously improve data structures and quality.
  • Assist in the development of data tracking tools including spreadsheets, reports, and/or databases to meet a variety of data needs.
  • Contribute to the general functioning of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Core Competencies/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing data, data sets, databases etc. required.
  • Proficient with Excel, and Google Apps; Ability to work in both PC and Mac OS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and present conclusions clearly.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Experience in a higher education setting a plus.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate day-to-day projects and assignments with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow-up as needed and take responsibility for completing assignments.
  • Reliable and prompt.
