Overview: Custodial cleaning of buildings


Reports to: Custodian Supervisor and Operations Services Manager


Work Schedule: 25 hours/week, 4 days, Sunday - Wednesday


Responsibilities:

• Nightly routine cleaning of buildings and bathrooms

• Take out trash and recycling

• Lift and move furniture

• Report maintenance issues to the Operations Services Manager

• Communicate inventory and equipment status to the Operations Services Manager

• Check email each day

• Assist with event setups and breakdowns

• Mop, sweep, dust, vacuum, use a carpet extractor, remove cobwebs, and clean toilets

• Occasional deep cleaning projects

• Evening emergency assistance

• Campus security and nightly lock-up of buildings


Personnel:

• Will have ongoing collaboration with the Operations Services team

• Will have occasional interactions with guests and the Events Team

• Will have occasional interactions with internal staff and School Overnight Program staffing


Qualifications:

Required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional custodial work

• Must be physically fit and able to bend/twist/turn/kneel and work in awkward positions, climb ladders and stairs, handle and work proficiently with common hand and power tools

• Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs.

• Initiative and motivation to work hard and to work independently

• Proven accountability, responsibility, and trustworthiness in a similar position

• Effective communication skills

• Good customer service skills

• Work quickly and accurately

• Maintain a professional attitude at all times

• Washington State driver’s license and ability to obtain any licenses required for system

or vehicle operation

• Demonstrate IslandWood's core values that enable teams and individuals to succeed

• Experience in engaging with diverse communities

• Must pass child safety screening procedure
