POSITION SUMMARY

 

ARC is seeking an experienced supervisor to run our 40 bed Transitional Housing Program for men and women who have served long-term sentences (10+ years).  This site is located in Sylmar, CA.  The program focus is to teach life skills, provide reentry services, and mentor our members on to the next phase of their reentry journey.  This is a challenging position that requires a self-motivated, multi-tasker with an understanding of the reentry needs of our returning citizens.  The ideal candidate should be a motivated, organized, self-starter able to navigate government contracts, supervise front-line staff, and ensure schedules and programming run on time.  Experience with the criminal justice population is considered an asset, along with passion and commitment to social justice reform.  This is a position that will interact with governmental agencies, ARC staff, as well as other community-based organizations.  


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


·                Direct day-to-day operations and staff schedules; conduct weekly team meetings; supervise and manage staff; monitor, track and document expenditures.

·                Oversee program implementation, member support groups and group meetings coordinated by the collective staff.

·                Oversee the implementation and provision of all Life Skills Training program components, services, and activities.

·                Possess the interpersonal skills that allow effective interaction with varied staff and participant groups.

·                Maintain all documentation and data as required by the contract.

·                Oversee case management database to ensure proper documentation by support staff.  

·                Develop and maintain positive relationships with program partners.

·                Coordinate after-hours service support.  Serve as backup on-call at all times and assume primary “on-call” as needed.

·                Work to build and maintain relationships within the local community.  Attend community meetings and interact within the community on behalf of ARC.

·                Work with staff to ensure individual growth and support leadership development in alignment within the ARC culture.

·                Provide consistent program status/updates to ARC’s senior management team.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Program Coordinator will have at least 2 years of professional experience supervising staff providing services to a criminal justice or related population. Experience with casefile review, group documentation, and contract compliance essential.  Residential experience preferred.

The Program Coordinator will have the following experience and attributes:

·       Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent minimum. 

·       Flexible and self-starter; ability to multitask while also being highly detail oriented.

·       Excellent people and communication skills, with experience in collaborating in a multidisciplinary, diverse and dynamic team environment.

·       Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to ARC’s mission.

·       Strong and affective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

·       ARC strongly encourages qualified formerly incarcerated and system-impacted individuals to apply. 

·       Experience in Motivational Interviewing techniques and Trauma Informed approach.

·       Passionate about the ARC mission.
