About us

Wholesome Generation, a 501(c)(3) women-founded Austin organization, develops and cultivates leadership skills and empowers positive change in our community through the implementation of a living, community integrated food, cooking and regenerative farm curriculum.

We cultivate a Learning Model that allows the whole child to flourish, giving them a voice and agency in their own learning pathways, so that they can thrive with true purpose in our ever-changing world.

We believe that every child deserves access to high quality education and healthy foods, regardless of their race/ethnicity, home language, socio-economic background, disability, or family income level. This includes opportunities to access advanced academics, enhanced health & healing practices, including forest & nature therapy, a conservation & ecology lab, nourishing plant-based meals, and the learning of life-skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy, and collaboration.

Wholesome Generation is seeking an art and nature loving Grade 2 Teacher with a passion for the outdoors and a love for sustainability and conservation/science efforts, working with in a progressive education model that values student-based, hands-on project-based learning.

This position collaborates with our Grade 3-4 Lead teacher and works with community mentors (yoga, theatre, dance, other) to enrich our students. 1 year of classroom teaching experience with Elementary students preferred.

We are a Reggio-inspired model that respects each student and values their learning interests. We are looking for a teacher that is able to use our model to teach from a variety of core curricular modules, while being creative and adaptive to student needs and interests. Flexibility as we grow and co-create is key! We take a holistic approach to education and support the health of our students by immersing them in nature, creating Art every-day, and by being physically active and building healthy lifestyle habits.

Job Types: Full-time employment.

Pay: $34,000 starting (depending on qualifications and skills).

Salary
