Description



The purpose of this job is three

fold: 1) to increase enrolment of students in the school; and 2) to raise funds

in Ghana and abroad for scholarship fund and school  projects.

The Resource Development/Fundraising Officer has to develop a resource development plan which includesan enrolment improvement strategy,  and afundraising strategy.

This position involves the planning and execution of projects and activities that will in the short

and long term increase enrolment, and raise funds for the school. This position will provide a direct impact on customer (prospective and existing students/parent)  satisfaction to deliver on reasonable internal and external customer and sponsor/donor  expectations that translate into additional

income for the school.

KEY TASKS:

General

Prepare a  resource development  plan which includes  a fundraising plan with targets, activities,

deliverables and a budget.

Lead the implementation  of the resource development/fundraising  plan

Identify and pursue new clients & sponsors/

donors and opportunities to raise funds for the school (individual, corporates,

grant, foundations etc)

Orient and train SFCS staff on the new enrolment and fundraising strategies.

Resource  Development & Fundraising

Pro-actively hunt for target Parents and donors and establish as well as follow through

communications

Develop multi-tier relationships to grow students populations as well as sponsor and donor database.




Sponsor / Donor  Relationship Management

Develop a list of prospective donors/

sponsors and organize meetings and presentations about the school.



·      

Communicate with  new and existing donors, sponsors.



·      

Serves as a lead facilitator both

internally and externally for projects



·      

Develop and manage client/ donor  communication tools such as corporate website,

newsletters, and reports on the use of raised funds.



 



SET KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS  & TARGETS

Number of new enrolments

Number of new scholarship sponsors and

new donors.

Amount of money raised internally and

externally per project



 



EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:



·      

Minimum Bachelors’s degree in

Marketing and/ or Business Management. Master’s degree preferred.



·      

Professional qualification or

certification  in marketing or

fundraising.  



 



SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE



·      

Minimum 5 -8 years experience in

fundraising, marketing and/ or communication



·      

Excellent Planning and  computer skills (Microsoft Suite)



·      

Excellent writing,  communication and powerpoint presentation

skills



·      

Excellent public speaking skills



·      

Strong Interpersonal skills, and

professionalism.



·      

Must have strong research and

networking sills.



·      

Experience working in a school or

fundraising for a school a plus.



 



KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of fundraising, ,marketing,  strategy planning andexecution

Ability to plan, analyse data /information and make effective business decisions      

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, all other employees and clients    

Have excellent persuasion and negotiation skills

Knowledge of fundraising management software a plus.

Linkages with donors/ sponsors abroad.
