    UFCW 3000 is seeking an experienced applicant with excellent communication, organizational, and technical skills to join the UFCW 3000 Communications Department. We are seeking an applicant with experience in videography and video editing to assist our team in telling the stories of our membership and movement. The Communications Organizer will support internal and external organizing campaigns and help take on day-to-day communications projects, help build digital and physical assets, assist with materials production, and help manage electronic outreach to members. This position will require the applicant to be able to work independently and as part of a team and be comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines at once. The Communications Organizer will need to occasionally work in the field at events, bargaining sessions, or at worksites. Some experience with design and production is preferred.  

    Job Requirements and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 
    • Administrative Support: Ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel as well as new Data Systems to enter, process and track data. Send and track critical communication with members, employers, attorneys, and others regarding our work. Must meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks well. Will also provide support generally within Communications to set up meetings, arrange schedules, and prepare files. 
    • Copy Writing and Editing: Strong copy writing and editing skills to effectively create communications throughout the organization. Also apply these same skills to proofreading the work of others in the Communications Department for other outgoing communications. 
    • Videography and Editing: We’re looking to expand our in-house video capabilities with a candidate with skills and experience outlining, capturing, editing, and publishing video for a variety of platforms.
    • Mail, email and digital publishing: Ability to use (or learn to use) in-house production and mailing machinery, email publishing platforms, print layout programs (Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on InDesign), peer-to-peer texting platforms like Hustle, and web-based editors to send and publish communications content. Must be able to use database to execute physical mailings and electronic communications. 
    • Team Player: The UFCW 3000 Communications Department is a strong team-style workplace that can get fast-paced with the need to handle multiple projects and deadlines. The Communications Representative will work closely with staff throughout the organization and with the membership.

    Job Location: The UFCW 3000 Seattle Office is located in the Labor Temple in Georgetown but travel between UFCW 3000 offices is not unusual. Events with our membership and allies throughout the Puget Sound region, across Washington State, and sometimes into North Idaho or NE Oregon may require in-person attendance. We have a large print shop infrastructure in our Seattle office that the Communications Department uses regularly.

    Salary / Benefits: Annual Salary range of $74,984.00 to $112,008.00; This position is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement with membership in PNWSU.
