The Development Manager, Major Donor Relations is responsible for actively seeking new funding opportunities while developing strategies for increasing a broader base of donors to support the organization. This position is responsible for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donor prospects, inclusive of corporate, individual and foundation sources. The Development Manager will cultivate donors making major gifts in the range of $10,000-$100,000. The Development Manager will also be responsible for planning and executing proven engagement strategies that result in both donor retention and increased giving. This position will build a significant prospect base and assume responsibility for a fundraising goal.

•Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising activities,including individual major gift solicitation

•Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate donor options to prospects.

•Ability to effectively communicate the mission of the organization and articulate the impact of funding epilepsy research.

•Possess compassion, creativity, and integrity coupled with anability to earn the confidence of a wide range of internal andexternal constituents.

•Successful experience working with staff, affiliates, andvolunteers to ensure an integrated, organized effort, as well asgoal-oriented accomplishments.

•A team mentality and an interest in the success of colleagues.

•Proven sense for developing tactics to meet goals andobjectives.

•Highly skilled in MS Office and other computer applicationsincluding word processing, presentation, and spreadsheetsoftware.

•Knowledge of database software (Raiser’s Edge) preferred.
