Recruitment is taking place for the following position: Associate Director, Education Programs and Accreditation

Reporting to the Director, Education Products and Programs, this position has responsibility for the development and implementation of jointly developed ATS education products and specific programs as well as oversight of CME and MOC activities.

Primary Responsibilities include:

·        Plan and develop new ATS medical education products on behalf of the membership, including derivatives of ATS resources and collaborative initiatives with key external stakeholders

·        Provide principal staffing responsibilities for the Education Committees. Support the staffing for the Planning and Evaluation Committee. Provide consultation and assistance to additional ATS committees and staff as needed

·        Oversee the maintenance of ATS accreditation by the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and other education/training accrediting bodies

·        Oversee and support preparations for the 2022-23 ACCME re-accreditation process

·        Direct the adult Division Directors network and their annual activities


Qualifications: 

·        Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Academic and/or postgraduate training in adult education and communications and communication technologies relevant to healthcare professionals preferred.

·        Minimum five years’ experience in the development and implementation of medical education products and programs. Strong interest in and experience with use of electronic media in education, including web-based, podcasting, etc., preferred. 

·        Experience in ensuring that medical education products and programs meet accreditation body standards.

·        Knowledge of ACGME core competencies, and experience in working with ACGME accredited residency and fellowship programs, a plus.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required. Written and oral communication skills in Spanish a plus.

·        Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of ATS staff, independent contractors, physician volunteers and service providers simultaneously. 

·        Excellent organizational skill and ability to work independently, with varying amounts of supervision, and to set and meet administrative and production priorities and deadlines.

·        Must be detail-oriented and dedicated to high quality performance and results.
