Organization Overview: SHOFCO combats gender inequality and extreme poverty in urban slums by linking tuition free schools for girls to holistic social services for all. The SHOFCO model elevates girls while connecting community transformation to women's empowerment. Our ecosystem of services enables everyone to reach their full potential. Our holistic services change communities today: we improve health, provide economic opportunity, work to end gender-based violence, and create sanitation systems that offer dignity. Tomorrow, our girls will become next-generation leaders, disrupting the systems that hold poverty in place.

Position Overview: The position will work directly within the SHOFCO Advancement Team to support our mission to transform urban poverty into urban promise in the slums of Kenya. We are a small, nimble team of 4 in New York and 1 in Kenya, raising $9M/year and growing. The Associate will work in partnership with the Development Officer, Global Grants Officer and CAO to support prospecting, proposal development and fundraising collateral. The associate will have exposure to, and frequently lead, the full cycle of fundraising, from cultivation and solicitation through stewardship and renewals. We are a young, ambitious organization growing fast and are looking for someone eager to jump in and learn!
