Title: Operations Auditor

Reporting to the AVP of Evaluation & Quality Improvement, the Operations Auditor will shape and fulfill the program audit and quality assurance agenda of the Fortune Society. This position will also assist the Chief Compliance Officer with ensuring that the Fortune Society adheres to all funder and regulatory rules and requirements as well as its internal policies and procedures. S/he will work closely with program leaders to facilitate the development of effective systems of risk management and internal control that ensure program objectives are met. S/he partners with the various units and EQI Program Analysts to ensure that recommendations based on audit findings are adequately addressed in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop the agency’s internal audit schedule based on an assessment of relative risks and work with Program and EQI to ensure all audits and reviews are completed.
· Lead internal agency-wide audits of programs including chart reviews, reviewing documentation and monitoring programs for fidelity to model.
· Share findings from observations and audits with program staff, including working with Program Directors and EQI Program Analysts to assess the adequacy of plans for corrective action, offering insights and guidance.
· Develop tools that will allow programs to conduct day-to-day quality assurance and ensure compliance with program/unit objectives.
· Assist programs in preparation for announced (and anticipated) funder or regulatory agency site visits and audits, as well as providing support on the day of the audit.
· Maintain a summary of all audits/reviews conducted, findings, recommendations and implementation of corrective actions.
· Partner with EQI Program Analysts to develop a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program to implement best practices, create standardized forms, draft policies and procedures, and ensure contractual compliance.
· Support Senior Director of Contract Review & Risk Management as well as HR to ensure that staff has completed necessary training for their position.
· Work with Chief Compliance Officer to assist the agency in staying up to date on all necessary regulatory or statuary guidelines.
· Coordinate with EQI Program Analysts and Program Directors to ensure integrity and accuracy of Agency data collection, transmission and reporting for internal or external databases.
· Conduct special reviews as requested by Agency management.
- At least 3 years of related work experience in either a clinical, non-profit or government setting;
- Ability to understand and analyze all relevant statutes, regulations, contracts, and supervising agency policies;
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and fast-paced, deadline-oriented projects;
- Strong project management skills with impeccable attention to detail and ability to influence without authority;
- Possess a strong sense of urgency with the ability to drive projects to completion while working independently or as part of a larger team;
- A self-starter who is comfortable working with limited guidance and day-to-day supervision and possesses the demonstrated ability to be proactive and take the initiative;
- A team player who is open to feedback and possess a desire to learn and grow;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience working closely with staff at all levels;
- Ability to recognize the importance of practical solutions as well as the efficient and effective use of resources;
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to see the larger picture as well;
- Prior experience working in audit, quality assurance or compliance a plus; and
- Experience working with the formerly incarcerated population or with persons of a diverse background a plus.

Travel Requirements: Will require travel to our Harlem location and may require travel to various funder locations for training.
