What Is The Order?

The Order of the Good Death turns ten years old in 2021. In those ten years we have grown into the home of the worldwide death positive movement, which aims to educate, inform, empower, and protect communities and individuals regarding their rights around the end of life experience.

We do this through a YouTube series, articles, events, resources, a podcast, and a variety of social media platforms. The Order also provides financial support for other nonprofits and individuals who are tackling urgent death related issues within their communities.

We help to pass end of life related legislation and advocate for policies that are low cost, environmentally friendly, and ensure that each individual's end of life wishes are honored regardless of gender, racial, sexual, or cultural identity.

Job Description

The Project & Development Coordinator will be the key to supporting and leveling up our growing nonprofit. This person will create and develop plans for implementing projects, both new and ongoing. They will help create a strong and viable development program that includes fundraising, grants, and collaborative partnerships with donors. They will develop both annual and long term plans for funding, as well as outreach strategies.

The Project & Development Coordinator will report to the Executive Director, and work with both the Director and Founder to create and implement project plans and development in accordance with The Order’s objectives.

Responsibilities

• Sounding board for ideas, outreach, and new projects. We’re always creating something new.
•  Work with the Director and/or other partners on what steps need to be taken to complete approved projects. Using this input, create a plan of execution toward completion, including timetables and deliverables from those involved.
• Keep team on task, confirm responsibilities for tasks as well as provide regular progress reports.
• Create and manage a strong and viable development program that includes fundraising, grants, and collaborative partnerships with donors. Develop both annual and long term plans for funding, as well as outreach strategies.
• Provide support to the Director and Founder – including but not limited to emails, phone calls, research, writing, fact checking.
• Various administrative tasks, including responding to emails, sending out thank you’s to donors, researching and setting up tools and software for the Order team to use like Google Suite, or Otter.ai
• Specialized tasks or projects: depending on the candidate’s strengths, interests, and personal advocacy, additional tasks can be proposed to ED and Founder. Once approved, independent projects can be led, created and maintained. Examples: a virtual book club, content creation, creation of specialized resources, etc.

Location: Work can be performed remotely.

Salary: Base of $51,000, with additional insurance & internet stipend, plus performance based bonuses after six months with our team.

Schedule: 40 hours a week. There may be weeks you need to do slightly more or not exactly on a M-F schedule (example: a weekend event) but the clear goal is a solid work life balance and time away from your devices.
