Job Summary: 

The Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment directs and administers the student recruitment and admissions process with the goal of ensuring full enrollment according to the school’s plan and the Cristo Rey Network standards. As a key member of the organization’s Leadership Team, the Director of Student Recruitment and Enrollment is concerned with the students’ academic, professional, social, and spiritual development in accordance with the mission of our school.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Build external relationships designed to recruit students who fit the Cristo Rey student profile with Catholic, public, charter and other private elementary and middle/junior high schools in surrounding areas as well as with community organizations, employers, groups and nonprofits serving youth and parents.

• Develop, maintain and manage year-long recruitment and enrollment plans that integrate ongoing, multi-level efforts with multiple internal and external stakeholders while balancing ongoing recruitment efforts with time-sensitive enrollment tasks. 

• Organize, oversee and participate as appropriate in the interview and admissions process which includes coordinating with faculty, Corporate Work Study staff, school leadership and prospective students and their families to ensure a timely, smooth and effective admissions process.

• Represent Don Bosco Cristo Rey in recruiting efforts by attending school fairs, churches, youth centers and other organizations serving potential candidates for admission (day, evenings and weekends)

• Meet with parents, prospective applicants and feeder-school representatives to promote the school

• Lead the Admissions and Enrollment Department which includes regularly reporting to the president and to the Board, conduct effective team meetings and one-on-ones, provide subject matter expertise and support to direct reports 

• Planning an annual event for Middle School principals, counselors and teachers

• Oversee tours of the school, shadow visits, Open Houses, and other activities for prospective students and their parents.

• Prepare articles and advertisements for local papers 

• Attend Admissions Director's meetings as scheduled by the archdiocese and the Cristo Rey Network

• Create and maintain recruiting materials, brochures and forms relative to the admissions process

• Organize interviews for prospective students and parents

• Oversee the administration of the assessment test for potential students

• Ensures that all families complete the TADS process including initial registration for 9th grade and re-registration in subsequent years

• Make determinations of student tuition amounts based on each family’s financial documents

• Manage the Maryland BOOST program application and award process for all incoming 9th-grade students and work together with the Principal and VP of Operations to ensure maximum BOOST participation and application for all 10-12 grade student families.

• Recommend candidates for admission to the Principal and Director of Corporate Work Study Program for approval 

• Conduct an annual evaluation of the admissions program.

• In collaboration with the President, develop and recommend an annual budget for the admissions program.

• Prepare reports on admissions progress for the Principal, ADW and the Cristo Rey Network 

• Other Duties as Assigned


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) 

• A minimum of five years of experience in recruiting/admissions work 

• Commitment to social justice and working with high school students 

• Demonstrate a positive attitude 

• Good communication skills 

• Collaborative leadership style 

• Candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish

• Sensitivity to working in a diverse multi-cultural environment

• Knowledge of the Catholic faith, beliefs and practices 

• Understanding and commitment to the educational mission of the Archdiocese of Washington, the Salesians of Don Bosco, and the vision of the Cristo Rey Network
