Position Overview is expanding its reach, team, and programming. To support our growth, we are searching for several new roles that will work together to drive marketing efforts and support our mission. We’re searching for a highly motivated senior manager who is not afraid to bring fresh ideas to the table.

The role of Senior Manager, SEM & Paid Media will provide direct support to the Director of Social, Growth to execute cross-channel media campaign planning and activation across multiple campaign and program initiatives. This role manages the functions involved in paid social and SEM specifically and manages campaign planning, execution/trafficking, creative best practices, and partnering with internal teams, vendors, and social platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, launch, and analyze SEM and paid social campaigns including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn across multiple programs
  • Lead strategic tests and be able to analyze/share key learnings with larger internal teams for future campaigns
  • Help set objectives and budgets across programs against their KPIs, working closely with internal data science team to assess program performance
  • Be accountable for budget management, supervising budget implementation and giving recommendations of adjustments
  • Handle daily campaign management, including monitoring pacing/delivery, tracking optimizations, and escalating issues
  • Review and quality-check all social media content before trafficking or posting on owned channels
  • Understand how all media channels work together to support larger team in providing media plans for multiple brands with social media at the core
  • Work with internal editorial team to identify core SEM/SEO integration opportunities
  • Educate internal teams on best practices, platform updates, and new products
  • Contribute to constantly developing and sophisticating our approach to paid social, SEM, and new growth initiatives that scale acquisition
  • Conduct competitive research and compile industry information when appropriate and needed, all while maintaining data/reports for future use
  • Oversee all social media business manager accounts to set up/update pixels, ad accounts, billing, and password protection/security; manage page access for different licensees and general page consistency ensuring all best practices are being met
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, hardworking, team spirit


  • 4–6 years of paid media buying experience, ideally at a media agency or publisher
  • BS/BA degree in Communications, or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Mastery of all social platforms and self-serve UIs, including Facebook/Instagram (Power Editor), Snapchat, YouTube (Ad Words), and Twitter, and understanding the nuances of each
  • Familiarity with social publishing tools
  • Familiarity with web analytics
  • Google Analytics and Facebook Blueprint Certification preferred
  • High level of analytical and data skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Consultative, communicative approach and enthusiasm for educating internal teams
  • Experience with display and programmatic preferred, but not required
