The senior director of information technology services is responsible for all IT-related services at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), including network, servers, operating systems (Mac and PC), web properties, videoconferencing services, data storage, voice security, firewalls, and cloud services. The senior director will manage two full-time IT staff, including: the information technology web specialist and the information technology assistant. The senior director will place a crucial, collaborative role ensuring that IT (including web and database services) is leveraged and supported in meaningful ways that further the goals of the project. The specific job duties include: responsible for IT-related services, including network, servers, operating systems (Mac and PC), web properties, videoconferencing services, data storage, voice, security, firewalls, and cloud services; manage the IT help desk that supports the associations staff; manage IT budget, and continuously strive for client satisfaction and proactive improvement of services and support; work in a collaborative role ensuring that IT (including web and database services) is leveraged and supported in meaningful ways; point of contact with external vendors, optimizing the use of AAC&U’s resources, monitor contracts for compliance, services, and are cost-effectiveness; provide ongoing support to program staff, meetings office, and other project-related technical support at meetings and in creating technology platforms and project intersections; oversee AAC&U’s telephone switchboard and network; add, modify, and update voicemail and phone directory in the phone system; travel to annual meeting to provide technology support; perform system administration and development tasks to protect AAC&U’s network and systems from unauthorized access, data loss, and security breaches; work with the Vice President, Administration to set the vision and direction for the group and ensure alignment with overall AAC&U goals; and keep abreast of current trends and developments in the industry.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems or a related field, and 3 years of experience working in an IT service/support or IT implementation role, including experience in diagnosing and resolving IT problems, working across IT infrastructures (aws, azure, access, html, and sql), experience with databases, websites, and digital content, experience working in IT security, and experience with disaster planning, backup, and recovery. 2 years of concurrent supervisory experience managing IT help desk support staff required.
