The Public Interest Network includes some of the top public interest organizations in the country, including Environment America and U.S. PIRG. The advocates, organizers, and leaders of the organization are supported by a team of top notch office and financial administrators who assist with long-term planning and manage daily operations of the organization. We are seeking a financial administrator to start immediately in Denver, CO.
Representative responsibilities include:
· On a bi-weekly basis: Process invoices, create invoices, deposit funds and process payroll.
· On a monthly/quarterly basis: bank reconciliation, reports to state and federal agencies and reports to Executive directors.
· On a yearly basis: issue w2s, prepare non-profit IRS tax filings, prepare state and federal reports, and assist in audits.
Candidates must be detail-oriented and highly organized, have a friendly and professional demeanor, and conscientious enough to manage confidential and/or sensitive information. Candidates must be comfortable working with computers and technology and specifically must be comfortable working with Quick Books. The successful candidate will be excited by the idea of making social change and winning on issues.
Candidates for this position should have one to three years of administrative and/or bookkeeping experience. We value experience with nonprofit organizations and political campaigns. Candidates must be able to make a two-year commitment.
