Position Summary:

Literacy Inc. (LINC), mobilizes resources in underserved communities to surround children with a sustainable and literacy-rich environment. A pioneer in the field of early literacy, LINC leads several collective impact initiatives, in addition to its community programs, and was recently awarded the 2019 Nonprofit Excellence Award for fundraising and was a finalist in the overall Excellence prize.     

Due to LINC’s rapid growth, we are looking for a person to fill a brand new position to provide administrative support for our Executive Director and other members of the Executive team.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in working directly with the leadership team of a non profit organization with ample opportunities for growth.  

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Board Committee meetings and calls.  Assist in the preparation for these meetings.
  • Act as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients and other external partners
  • Answering phones and routing calls to the correct person or taking messages.
  • Electronic and physical filing and retrieving corporate records, documents, and reports.
  • Researching and collecting data to prepare documents for review and presentation by boards of directors, committees, and executives.
  • Accurately recording minutes from meetings.
  • Using various software, including word processing, spreadsheets, google databases, Salesforce and presentation software.
  • Reading and analyzing incoming memos, submissions, and distributing them as needed.
  • Making travel arrangements for executives.  Prepare Expense reports for Executive team reimbursement.
  • Performing office duties that include ordering supplies and managing a records database.
  • Experience as a virtual assistant.
  • Opening, sorting and distributing incoming faxes, emails, and other correspondence.

Executive Assistant Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of entire MS Office suite.
  • Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
  • Professional level verbal and written communications skills.


Provides all aspects of administrative support to the ED and other members of Executive team: Performs other related tasks as assigned.


Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required

Highly organized with an eye for detail

Strong analytical ability

Experiences with Google suite, Google drive. Working knowledge of Salesforce a plus 

Excellent writing, computer, and interpersonal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and move projects forward in a fast paced environment

Comfortable taking initiative and working as a strong member of a diverse team
