The Sr. Coordinator, Membership manages strategy and implementation of the FLC Membership program (less than $1,250) and all levels of New Wave, FLC’s young patron program. The Sr. Coordinator, Membership leads all FLC Membership and New Wave efforts including stewardship, solicitation, direct mail, fulfillment, event planning and coordination, and donor recognition. The Sr. Coordinator, Membership also coordinates and collaborates with fellow teammates across the Philanthropy & Partnerships department to establish and plan upgrading Members’ support.

30% - Member communications

15% - Write electronic and printed member letters.

15% - Member solicitation

10% - Member and New Wave event planning

10% - Track member revenue and participant numbers

10% - Draft, monitor, and regularly update membership fundraising strategy

  5% - Manage New Wave Leadership Committee

  5% - Research and administrative duties

  • Manage a portfolio of 3,000+ Members, including developing and implementing strategies for renewals and upgrades. 
  • Collaborate with team to develop strategies to upgrade select Members to the Patron Program and Major Gifts level. 
  • Manage daily communication and correspondence with Members including but not limited to: Member phone line, email account, newsletter blasts, blog updates, etc. 
  • Respond to Member inquiries regarding benefits, programming, ticketing, including grievances.
  • Co-develop annual goals, and implements strategy, to grow the Membership and New Wave programs with special consideration towards updating benefit deals and acquisition structure.  
  • Research external contacts to develop opportunities and events to increase organizational fundraising revenue and expand Membership and Patron programs. 
  • Works closely with Development Systems Associate to track statistics, revenue, and acquisition data for all levels of Membership.  
  • Assist with assembling and mailing acknowledgment and renewal letters for Patrons and Members as needed.
  • Conducts prospect research for acquisition; focused on giving level and capacity incongruence.
  • Keep constituent records updated in the donor database.
  • Provide general administrative support, and perform other duties as assigned.



  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience in membership and/or individual giving programs.
  • High school diploma/GED required; some college/ Associate Degree or more preferred.
  • Experience with entry-level giving programs & membership programs a plus.
  • Proven ability to work with members and patrons, handle confidential information, and exercise discretion.
  • Passion for the mission of the Film at Lincoln Center.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfort soliciting donations by phone and in person and fostering relationships.
  • Phone solicitation experience preferred.
  • Available for night and weekend events.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, anticipate challenges, solve problems, and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work based on goals. 

Preferred skills:

  • Experience using Tessitura or other development database systems a plus.
  • Experience using Wordfly a plus.


10% Travel (Travel is currently frozen – this estimate assumes travel will re-open in the next year as COVID-19 abates)
