The Organization

The Diversity in Health Training

Institute (DHTI) is seeking an Executive Director with a strong program

development, operations, and grants management skill set.  DHTI promotes the health, well-being, and integration of immigrants by supporting their success in healthcare fields, to

the benefit of the whole community.  We believe that no talent should be wasted.

Our programs prepare newcomers to the U.S. to enter or re-enter

healthcare professions and they help providers meet their need for a cultural

and linguistically diverse workforce. DHTI also operates community wellness

initiatives that include education campaigns on civic engagement and public

health issues such as COVID-19, and early identification and referral to

services for mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Since 2011, through its workforce and community wellness initiatives, DHTI has worked with over 600 refugees and immigrants, hailing from over 68 countries, and representing over 42 languages.

DHTI works with all immigrant, refugee, and asylum populations, largely from

the following regions: Africa, Asia (South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia),

Latin America, and the Middle East. Most of DHTI’s participants and clients have

been in the U.S. for four years or fewer and identify as English language learners.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting time to join DHTI as the organization continues its evolution to playing a larger role in workforce and community wellness development.  This is an opportunity for a passionate,

visionary leader to take DHTI to its next stage.  Supported by a Board of Directors that brings

high levels of experience in education, finance, law, public policy, public

health, and health care, the Executive Director will be responsible for

implementing the strategic goals of the organization and providing direction

and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's vision, values,

mission, annual goals and objectives.  The Executive Director represents

the organization in engaging with government, foundation and corporate funders as

well as the community by building trusted relationships with a range of

stakeholders.

The Executive Director will manage a current budget of $1.3M and a staff of 10-14 and consultants.  With the support of a  management team, the  Executive Director oversees two main initiatives,
