JOB DESCRIPTION

The American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) seeks to hire a qualified Graphic Designer / Multimedia Producer to help execute communication strategies with a focus on creative design and multimedia production across our programs. This position is a key member of a fast-paced and growing communications team. The Graphic Designer/Multimedia Producer will report to the Communications Director with a focus on providing professional, consistent digital content, to help create and push messages across platforms.

A strong candidate understands the role of communications and narrative change in moving forward policies at the state and national level. In addition, they will have superb graphic design skills and be able to explain complex issues in simple formats such as video, GIFs, memes and infographics. A strong candidate will be able to create websites and landing pages, maintain web properties, and generate basic analytic reports. An ideal candidate is a natural at visual storytelling, understanding the media cycle and generating creative content that can rise above the noise.

To succeed in this position, the individual must be able to manage expectations and meet deadlines, organize and present information, pay attention to detail, maintain confidentiality, demonstrate honesty and trustworthiness and make a solid, positive impact. The new hire must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

●       Create multimedia content, including graphics, videos and social media memes, to support communication strategies

●       Create the look, layout and features of digital properties (web design)

●       Maintains and makes additions to websites, including creating landing pages

●       Support with writing and editing as needed

●       Produce analytic reports

 QUALIFICATIONS

●       Bachelor’s degree required (major in web/graphic design, communication or marketing preferred)

●       At least 1-3 years experience in creative design, media and/or public relations

●       Experience with WordPress and EveryAction other similar platforms to create websites and landing pages

●       Experience with video editing: Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere

●       Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

●       Experience with UX and UI

●       Knowledge of Basic HTML & CSS

●       Experience with web development: SASS (scss), Liquid, Ruby on Rails, jQuery (Javascript)

●       Knowledge of Powerpoint and Microsoft Office Suite

●       Knowledge of Adobe After Effects

●       Comfort and ease advocating for undocumented immigrants, Dreamers and their parents.

●       Exceptional communication skills (interpersonal, written, and verbal),

●       Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite, and

●       Experience in a fast-paced environment

●       Spanish language proficiency preferred but not required.
