Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Associate to join us as a full time (37.5 per week) Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Create a vision for a comprehensive strategic marketing and communications plan that aligns to primary business goals, communicates brand differentiators, and promotes a strong strategy to maximize support, engagement, and experience for our diverse audiences including patients, clients, donors, corporate supporters, and community leaders.
  • Partner with the CEO, Chief External Affairs Officer, and other key leaders to build ambitious marketing and communication goals that support organizational priorities.
  • Lead the definition or refinement of our value proposition through messaging, visual style, tone, and editorial direction.
  • Honor Federation brand standards and lead in the development of internal guidelines and brand assets to enable the organization to execute appropriately.
  • Effectively lead a team of communicators, marketers, and graphic designers to plan and execute strategic plans and activities to maximize the communications and marketing potential across the organization, and work with a team of third-party vendors to enhance this work as needed.
  • Ensure successful implementation of a long-term approach for strategic communications, media work, brand positioning, public relations, crisis communications, and messaging and marketing materials differentiated by audience.
  • Develop cross-movement partnerships, strategies, and campaigns that build up and expand our base of supporters and donors to include more diverse audiences, including young activists, change makers, and community organizers.
  • Collaborate across departments to build a deep understanding of the needs of each unique audience to build successful and interconnected communication and marketing strategies for each audience.
  • Take the lead in supporting the Director of Communications in building a strong media outreach strategy and develop strong relationships with statewide media outlets and serve as a spokesperson when needed.
  • Ensure processes are in place to measure and analyze the success of marketing and communications activities to maximize the effectiveness of the work and contribute to the meeting of business and fundraising goals.
  • Ensure the marketing and communications department has the direction, resources, information, and professional development to make timely and strategic decisions, establish priorities, and ensure shared vision across the organization.
  • Embody a culture of storytelling and collaborate with staff and vendors as needed to develop PR strategies to promote our stories as consumable multi-platform content for the media, donors, patients, community leaders, partners, and staff.
  • Assist the CEO in building and promoting the presidential brand to personify her leadership values and how they translate at PPGOH into positive patient health outcomes and organizational success.
  • Fully own and manage the marketing and communications budget and spending by brand, departments, markets, and services to ensure we meet or exceed annual patient revenues in health services, donor support, and educational service contracts.
  • Stay on top of marketing and communications trends to inspire the team to build creative, strategic, effective, and timely fundraising activities and tactics that maximize giving and support the long-term building of relationships with our donors.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or other related work, and at least 5 years of management/supervisor experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team-building, and external relationship building skills
  • Must be able to work independently with the ability to prioritize and lead with minimal supervision.
  • Strong writer with significant marketing aptitude, including strategic direction setting, campaign conceptualization, and communication strategy development.
  • Success working with technical product teams and digital marketing technologies.
  • Solid record of accomplishment delivering insight-driven creative campaigns and programs that build brand equity, create demand, and deliver market share and profitability.
  • Strong business acumen with proven strategic planning and a track record of success
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong collaborator, highly strategic and creative
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
